Terms & Conditions

These terms cover the use of this website and the general basis on which we arrange travel. The specific terms for your trip are the ones confirmed in writing with your booking.

1. About these terms

"We", "us" and "our" refer to Dooars Adventure. "You" refers to the person making an enquiry or booking. Using this website means you accept the terms on this page.

2. Enquiries and quotations

Prices and itineraries shown on this website are indicative and subject to availability on your travel dates. A quotation becomes firm only when we confirm it in writing for your specific dates, group size and hotel category. Costs can change if any of those change, or if a third-party rate such as a hotel tariff or permit fee changes before booking.

3. Booking and payment

A booking is confirmed when you approve the written itinerary and pay the advance stated in it. The balance is due by the date set out in your booking confirmation. Bookings not paid by the stated dates may be released, and any resulting increase in cost is your responsibility.

4. What a package includes

Each package page lists its inclusions and exclusions. Anything not explicitly listed as included is excluded. In particular, unless stated otherwise, packages do not include airfare or rail tickets, travel insurance, personal expenses, entry tickets and camera fees, parking charges at sightseeing points, guide and porter charges, or local vehicle charges for restricted high-altitude sections.

5. Travel times, routes and sightseeing

Distances and driving times published in an itinerary are approximate. They vary with road conditions, weather, traffic and how long you spend at sightseeing stops. Mountain routes in the Northeast are subject to landslides, road works, convoy timings and temporary closures.

Where an itinerary includes high-altitude or border-area sightseeing — for example Sela Pass, Bumla Pass or Madhuri Lake — access depends on weather, road conditions, permit issue and clearance from the local administration and Army authorities on the day. We cannot guarantee such visits, and no refund is due where they cannot take place for these reasons.

6. Permits and documents

Indian nationals require an Inner Line Permit to enter Arunachal Pradesh; foreign nationals require a Protected Area Permit. Where a package includes the permit, we apply for it using the identity documents you provide. You are responsible for the accuracy of those documents and for carrying valid original photo ID for the whole trip. Permits are issued by the authorities, not by us, and issue is at their discretion.

7. Accommodation and vehicles

Hotels are confirmed by name or by an equivalent standard. If a confirmed property becomes unavailable, we will provide accommodation of a similar or better standard. Room category and occupancy are as stated in your booking. Vehicles are allotted according to group size and route; a specific vehicle model is indicative unless it is named in the inclusions.

8. Changes and cancellation

If you need to change or cancel a confirmed booking, tell us in writing as early as possible. Charges depend on the cancellation policies of the hotels, transport operators and permit authorities involved, and are set out in your booking confirmation. Amounts already paid to third parties on your behalf may be non-refundable.

We may have to change an itinerary for reasons beyond our control — weather, road closures, strikes, restrictions imposed by authorities, or circumstances affecting safety. Where that happens we will provide the nearest reasonable alternative. We are not liable for costs arising from such events, including missed onward flights or trains.

9. Health, fitness and safety

Several of our routes involve long drives and high altitudes. You are responsible for assessing whether a trip suits your health and fitness, and for telling us in advance about medical conditions we should plan around. Please follow the instructions of your driver and of local authorities, particularly in border and restricted areas. We recommend travel and medical insurance for every trip.

10. Liability

We arrange services provided by independent hotels, transport operators and other suppliers, and we take reasonable care in selecting them. We are not liable for loss, damage, injury or delay caused by those suppliers' acts or omissions, nor for events outside our reasonable control. Personal belongings remain your responsibility throughout the trip.

11. Website use

Content on this website — itineraries, descriptions, images and layout — belongs to us and may not be copied or republished without permission. You agree not to submit false information through our forms, to use them to send unsolicited or automated messages, or to attempt to interfere with the operation or security of the site.

12. Complaints

If something goes wrong during your trip, tell us straight away on +91 7431800421 so we have the chance to put it right while you are still travelling. Anything unresolved can be raised with us in writing afterwards.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
